Express Entry is Canada’s most popular immigration system for skilled professionals who want to settle permanently in the country. It is designed to select qualified individuals based on their skills, experience, and potential to succeed in Canada. With a structured and efficient process, Express Entry offers one of the quickest ways to achieve Permanent Residency.
This program is ideal for candidates who are ready to take the next step toward a stable career, quality lifestyle, and long-term future in Canada.
The Express Entry system provides a clear, points-based immigration process for applicants both inside and outside Canada. It focuses on fairness, speed, and transparency. Here’s how the process works:
Submit details about your work experience, education, language ability, and other qualifications.
Your profile is scored under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which considers factors such as age, skills, education, and adaptability.
Candidates with competitive CRS scores receive an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residency through regular Express Entry draws.
Express Entry manages applications under the following federal immigration programs:
The Canadian Experience Class is designed for skilled workers and graduates who have already gained valuable work experience in Canada. This program recognizes your contribution to the Canadian workforce and rewards candidates who have successfully adapted to life and work in Canada.
Having Canadian work experience shows that you understand the local job market and can integrate smoothly into Canadian society. Whether you are currently living in Canada or have worked here within the past few years, the CEC provides a reliable and efficient pathway to Permanent Residency.
The Federal Skilled Worker Program is one of Canada’s longest-standing immigration pathways, created to attract skilled professionals from around the world. Now managed through Express Entry, the program focuses on candidates with strong education, work experience, and language skills who can contribute to Canada’s economy.
FSWP is ideal for individuals with foreign work experience who are seeking permanent settlement in Canada.
Candidates under the Federal Skilled Worker Program are assessed on a points-based grid out of 100. A minimum score of 67 points is required to qualify.
This evaluation system is separate from the CRS score used in Express Entry rankings.
Hands-On Trade Experience
To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a minimum of two years of paid trade experience, gained within the last five years. This experience may be full-time or an equivalent amount of part-time work.
Approved Trade Categories
Only certain skilled trades are eligible under this program. Work experience must belong to one of the following NOC trade classifications:
Language Abilit
Applicants must meet basic language standards to function in a Canadian work environment, with higher benchmarks for speaking and listening than reading and writing.
Employment Offer or Certification
Eligibility requires either a confirmed Canadian job offer valid for at least one year or an official trade certification issued by a Canadian authority.
Education Consideration
While education is not a requirement, recognized Canadian credentials or assessed foreign education may improve Express Entry competitiveness.
Financial Readiness
Unless already working in Canada or holding a valid job offer, applicants must show proof of sufficient funds to support their settlement.
Location of Settlement
Applicants must intend to settle in any province or territory outside Quebec.
